4 Months Prego! Bed Rest & Names!

Four Months Pregnant TODAY!! Wozza!

So, I've been on Bed Rest for one week and it's not going so bad. 16 hours a day I can handle. I try to sleep for 10 hours a night, take an afternoon nap with Madison, then lay down around 7 or 8 and watch some T.V.

I feel great! No more morning sickness, but being on bedrest does make you tired lol.

I just pray that the bedrest doesn't turn into monitored bedrest (bedrest in the hospital). I did this with Madison when I was 7 months pregnant and you only can get out of the bed when you have to pee, for your morning shower, and one 30 minute wheelchair ride a day. Yeah it sucked, but my family and inlaws were so great that I never had to eat hospital food! Breakfast, lunch, and dinner somebody called and asked what I wanted to eat : ) It was fantastic!!

I really wanted his first name to be Reed, but I asked Maddie to say the name Reed and it sounds like WEED. lol

Of course, we may not even pick these names in the end, but once I pick a name I try to stay with it and this baby needs a name so Mommy & Daddy can stop calling him baby boy.

Another simple and sweet cake with basic fondant star cutouts.

I wished I took the time and made all the footballs, soccer balls, baseballs, and basketballs out of fondant, but it was one of the first of my fondant cake days and I think I was afraid of messing up. Hmmm.... did that just make any sense?!

I did make the baseball glove and the baseball bat out of fondant the night before : )

Graduation Cake

for a Student who is about to Graduate from Terrell High School.

Man, I can not believe it has been six years since I graduated High School :(

Time sure does go by fast!

This cake was a blast to make. I have never done a book cake before, so it was nice to do something different.

I love how the English book looks kinda beat up (not by choice, the fondant wasn't being my friend). It's beat up like all school books being passed down from one student to the other.

The only problem I did have with the cake was the frosting oozing out of the page side. Grrr

I made the tassel the night before.

I, also, made the top of the Graduation Hat the night before. It is a piece of cardboard covered in red fondant.

I just love stars! Anything with stars on it makes me smile!! **Personal Fact: I have 5 tattoos with a total of 35 stars somewhere in them**

To make the Fun To Be One Candle stand up straight (with out falling over), I carved out a hole (about an inch deep) and placed a 2 inch Wood Dowel Rod in it.

Update: 15 Weeks Pregnant

So I was having some problems today, I went to the doctor asap.

I was so relieved the baby was ok, moving and kicking.

The first time I saw him, I remember, uncontrollable tears streaming down my face. When you have 1 High Risk Pregnancy and 2 Miscarriages every time you see your baby healthy and alive is a blessing. I am so grateful for this little miracle. My 2% chance MIRACLE!!!

Yeah, you heard me right... HIM!!!

We are having a BOY!!!

The intelligender was WRONG!! lol. It doesn't matter we are so happy! My body told me it was a boy. I was just so sick and, with Maddie I never got sick, just nauseous. The 90% accuracy did make me a believer that it was a girl.

So, I'm 15 weeks pregnant today and I found out that it is a boy! I am High Risk Pregnancy (again) because of an Abnormal Cervix (Short Cervix). I was put on bed rest for 16 hours a day, until further notice. This was the same problems I had with Maddie, but now we are blessed to know ahead of time.

It's so crazy how you can love somebody so much without ever meeting them. Before I got pregnant I never imagined that I could love another kid other than Maddie.

Okay... okay.. I'm done venting! Thanks for listening!! Y'all have been a great audience!

It's a BOY!!!!

15 Weeks Prego! Intelligender Test!

I'm Fifteen Weeks Pregnant today and I feel great! I only got sick 2 days this week, instead of the normal 7. I think the morning sickness is coming to an end and I'm stoked!!

So, is the Kennedy Family going to be blessed with another beautiful little Girl, or are we going to have our first little Boy?

We bought this Gender Prediction Test called Intelligender at Walgreens for $29.99, and it's going to tell us if we are having a boy or girl.

It says it is over 90% accurate.

These are samples from the Intelligender website, http://www.intelligender.com/. If your urine turns ORANGE than it's a GIRL and if your urine turns GREEN than it's a BOY! Lets take a look at my results..... drum roll please......

It's a GIRL!!!!

Wow!! That's exciting!

We will find out in a few weeks if this test is right! I'm confident that it will be!

Daniel, my husband, is excited,but a little bummed.

He wanted his boy and (if the test is right on a girl) this was his last shot to get his boy,because I'm not having any more kiddos.

Tinkerbell Cake

My Disney Tinkerbell Cake!!

This is the doll that I put in the cake.

I bought her at Target for under $10.00.

I took all her clothes off and made her a fondant shirt.

I put frosting on her body to make the fondant stick, then I sqeezed her legs all the way in the cake. I decorated around her waist to make the dress look like a one peice.

Then, I sprinkled her dress with Wilton's Green Pearl Dust.

Paisley Bandana Cake

This is my Paisley Bandana Cake.

It was a challenge.

A lot of time consuming detail was added to this cake.

I made the paisley's by cutting out blue fondant with my leaf cutter.

Then, I sretched my leaf and curved the point to make a paisley shape.

I painted on the flowers with black food coloring, added over 300 white dots, and hand painted the stars.

To get the bandana "SQUARE" shape, I cut my fondant in a square, added all the details, then layed it over the cake.

I did not press down the sides.

By the time I finished with all the details the fondant was dried and layed on the cake just how I wanted.

Wow. What a challenge, but I enjoyed it : )

I wished I put more detail on the screen of the phone, but overall, for my first Cell Phone Cake, I think it came out pretty good.

I hand drew these with black food coloring.

The Cake That Started It All!

This is the cake that started it all.

I started to bake, and more importantly, decorate cakes because of one very special girl, My daughter, Madison.

I wanted to be that mom who made her daughter's Birthday Cakes.

This was the first fondant and tiered cake that I have ever done. It was very time consuming trying to figure everything out.

It is a 3 tier Princess Cake. Fit for Cinderella herself. Including a plastic Cinderella Horse and Carriage.

I still, to this date, have never taken a cake class.

Mickey Mouse Cake

This is my Mickey Mouse Cake.

Ahhh, memories of watching The Mickey Mouse Club with Justin Timberlake and Ryan Gosling.

Mickeys head is just 3 black fondant circle cut outs. That's it... simple enough. People always ask, "how'd you get the fondant that red?". Answer: Keep mixing and mixing until you get the red you want. Yeah, it's a pain in the you know what, but it comes out great! If you dont want to knead fondant, for what seems like forever, just buy the fondant precolored red. Saves some time and saves your hands from turning red for 2 days : )

14 Weeks Baby Bump

Yep... I got the baby bump. 14 weeks Pregnant today! Whoo hooo, second trimester!!!I don't know when the last time I was more excited! I guess 10 weeks ago when I got the news of being pregnant. I'm so stoked to FINALLY be in the second trimester! I hope this morning sickness eases up asap, because yesterday I could hardly get out of bed. I have offically gained all the weight back that I lost and now I gotta a baby bump to show off. Now, I just cant wait to find out the sex of the baby. I'm guessing a boy. I know every pregnancy is different, but I'm still going to guess boy because with Madison I never got sick. This kid I'm sick 24/7.

I need a Martini!

Only if I wasn't pregnant!

I made two different Martini cakes because I simply had a rookie mistake. I thought it was the day of the party, so I made the cake, then I looked at my book and realized the party was the following week. Yeah.... ummmm.... that sucks! As you can guess, my husband was stoked to have a cake to eat for no reason. TIP: Read your schedule book before you bake and decorate a cake : ) This is the second Martini Cake I made and it was the official birthday cake.

I made the Martini Cake Topper a few days before the party.

I sprinkled all the pink with Wilton's Pink Pearl Dust and all the olives with Wilton's Green Pearl Dust.

It's a pretty simple cake with star and circle cut outs, but I gotta tell you, those martini's took a long time to cut out.

I printed a Martini Glass off the internet (not this exact one) and traced and cut it out on cardboard. Then I place the cardboard on my black fondant and cut the fondant in this shape. Then, I added the pink triangles to the black fondant martini. Happy 21st Birthday, Rachel! I hope you enjoyed your Martini's!

Clowning Around

This is a Circus Cake I made for a little boy.

I really enjoyed clowning around with all the creativeness : )

I'm very proud of my lion.

I think he's very cute and I'm not lion... Okay, okay, I'll stop with all the corny jokes.

This is my attemp to make a seal balancing two balls on his nose. Maybe I should have put the bigger ball on bottom. Of course the clowns had to make a mess. One seemed to knock over a bucket of blue paint and walk right in it. What a clown!

Fall Leaves Cake

This is my Fall Leaves Cake!

I really had a great time making this cake and I love the colors.

The Fall Leaves Cake was for an Anniversary party in November.

Fondant Acorn sprinkled with Wilton's Edible Gold Pearl Dust. Fall Leaves with Berries. To get the leaves, mix 2 or 3 different colors of fondant (do not blend the fondant completely, or you'll get one ugly color leaf), roll out fondant, and cut with your leaf cutter.
