DIY Hungry Caterpillar Cupcakes

Hungry Caterpillar Cupcakes

I made these cupcakes and personal cake for a 1st birthday party.

Who doesn't love The Very Hungry Caterpillar

  • Use Tip: 1M
  • Wiltons Coloring: Red, Leaf Green, Yellow, Black
  • Wiltons Fondant: Green, Yellow, Red, Black
  • 12 or 24 cupcakes & 6" round cake
  • ABC Cookie Cutters for 'Happy Birthday'
Before adding the green frosting to your pastery bag paint a few lines of yellow coloring inside the bag. Then add the green fosting. This will give a hint of yellow swirled throughout your cupcakes.

Peeps Pop Centerpiece and Peeps Cupcakes

DIY Monday
.Peeps Pop Centerpiece and Peeps Cupcakes.
Place a sucker stick in each Peeps. Then, individually wrap and tie close with curly string or ribbon.  Have fun creating your very own Peeps Pop!

Tips for making the centerpiece...
  • Use any shape of styrofoam and glue ribbon around it.
  • Have ribbon come up at least 1/2 an inch. This will be your border to hold the candies in.
  • Stick your Peeps Pops in the styrofoam and just add your candies to cover the top of the styrofoam.
Cute Centerpiece!

Just grab and go :)

Bake your cupcakes and frost. Add a Peeps and some Easter Egg Candies.

Thanks for the idea, Ashley!

Happy Easter!

Easter 2011

Happy Easter from The Kennedy Family!

Our Easter Traditions...

The Easter Bunny comes and sneaks into our house leaving goodies and books about Easter behind. Then...
....We Easter Egg Hunt.

Make sure to look up high and down low.

We take pictures to capture the moment.

We enjoy eating Easter Sweets.

We go to my mom's house, my dad's house, and my in-laws house to spend time with the people we love most. We read a book about Easter at bedtime...

...and we pray and teach our kids about the importantance of this day.

What are some of your Easter Traditions?

Tip: Storing your left over Easter food

Tip for storing your Easter leftovers...

Easter is only a few days away which means you will most likely have left over food. I am so bad about not putting food away, but this year I'm going to create these reuseable freezer labels.

This idea is from Kim Kelly over at Out of Office.

Thanks for sharing this idea, Kim! I love it. My freezer is in desperate need of organization, so this is great.

I can, also, use this idea in many different areas throughout my home, like in my craft room! Instead of using normal labels I can create these. If I ever decide to rearrange everything I can just wipe the label clean and write in the new item I want to put there, instead of replacing every label.

What could you do with this idea?

Make your own confetti-filled eggs!

Confetti-Filled Eggs Tutorial
Great Easter Kids Craft

I saw some confetti-filled eggs at Target and decided to create some of my own. I have never heard of these before, but a friend informed me that these are called Cascarones and her family makes them every year. It's a mexican tradition and it just may become a Kennedy Family tradition :)

Supplies Needed:
  • Real Eggs
  • Needle or Stitch Cutter
  • Confetti or Glitter
  • Paint
  • Glue Stick
  • Tissue Paper or Paper Towel/Napkin

  • Use a Stitch Cutter and poke a small hole on the top and bottom of each egg.

  • Then, make the hole on the bottom of the egg bigger (about 3/4") by carefully picking the shell away.
  • Rinse out all the egg from inside your shell

  • Let your eggs dry.

  • Use glitter or confetti. We made our own confetti by cutting paper in tiny peices.

  • Have fun with your kids filling up the empty eggs with confetti.

It's looking good!

  • Get a piece of tissue paper (I used a 1"x 2" peice of paper towel) and place glue all over it.

  • Cover up the hole on your eggs

Now decorate your eggs!

We didn't have paint on hand so we used NAILPOLISH :)

Have fun and smash them over daddy's head!

It's My 26th Birthday!! Check out these amazing birthday cakes!

Happy 26th Birthday to me!!!

Today is my 26th birthday and I am having a fantastic day. I was showered with flowers, cards, money, food, and great company.

My Dad always calls and ask the same question every year, "How does it feel being (current age)  26-years-old?". I always respond the same way, "It feels just the same as being 25-year-old (previous age)".

Amazing Birthday Cakes
I make cakes for others, but I have never made a cake for myself. It doesn't seem practical. I do not like cake, never have, but I've been dreaming of having an awesome cake for my birthday. Here are two of my favorite cakes that I would love to have some day...

Black Damask Bat Mitzvah Cake

and my FAVORITE....

OMG!! Jenniffer from Cup a Dee Cakes made this and it is the coolest cake EVER. I love love it!!

There is something about Peacocks, Owls, Trees, and Stars... I'm obsessed! What about you? What do you absolutely love?

Bunny and Chick Craft with Maddie

Chicks and Bunny Crafts with Madison

We found some pre-packaged Easter Crafts at our local craft store and created these easter bunnies and chicks. It came with everything we needed to make 3 of each ones, minus the glue.

Madison had a blast being creative. The supplies are things you probably already have at home to make your own.

Sorry about the pictures. I took them from a camera phone (BAD IDEA!!)
The first picture is sideways and it will not go straight. Just tilt your head lol...
