Crayon Bouquet Teachers Gift Tutorial

Unique Teachers Crayon Gift

Today was my daughters last day of first grade and we made her teacher this Crayola Flower Bouquet.

Here is the tutorial to make one for your teacher.

Supplies Needed:
A box of Crayons - I used the 48 count and had some crayons left over.
A Bouquet of Flowers - I used fake flowers.
A Mug Plug - I found it in a package of 2 in the flower department.
Ribbon - I used red 7/8" Grosgrain Ribbon
Glue Gun & Glue Sticks
Scissors or Exacto Knife
Wire Cutters
Gift Card (optional)

DIY Steps...
Open your box of crayons & cut off the lid with your scissors.

 Empty your crayon box.

Secure the bottom of your crayon box with some hot glue.

Place some glue on the bottom of your mug plug and push your mug plug inside the box.

Hot glue crayons around the box.

Glue a ribbon & bow around the crayons.

Cut your flowers and push them into your mug plug. Glue a gift card to a flower or leaf.

Voila! Easy & Cute!
Mrs. Whittington LOVED it!

I officially have a 2nd grader!

RealTree Camo Hunting Cake

Baby Shower Hunting Cake
I hope you're having a Sweet Friday! I'm excited to get back into the groove of blogging. Over the next few fridays I will be showing you a Captain America Cake & Cookies, Cascading Flowers Cake & Cupcakes, Real Steel Cake, 3 Tier Scroll Wedding Cake, 3D Cars Cake & Cupcakes, American Flag Cake, Peace Signs Cake & Cupcakes, & another baby shower cake. That's just what I've created in May! I would love for you to come back each Friday and check them out. Post a link in the comment section to your sweet creations. I would love to see your cakes too!

Today I'd like to show you a Hunting Cake I created for a Baby Shower. They wanted RealTree Camo. This is what I created...

The RealTree Camo border on the bottom tier is an icing sheet I had printed for me. The leaves are painted with some brown and gold luster dust and the grass is shiny green by using lemon juice, green food coloring, & a very small amount of white luster dust.  The nest is a rice krispy treat covered in brown fondant. Just stab, poke, & squish with a fork to get the texture. The egg is a real egg that I cleaned out and let dry overnight.

I didn't know how this was going to come all together, but, I must say, I really like it.

See more Sweet Friday Post HERE

Come back next friday to see the Captain America Cake & Cookies!!

Austin Texas. State Capital

State Capital of Texas

Yesterday we decided to head to Austin, Texas. It's about 3.5 hours from Dallas to Austin. Daniel took the firefighter exam down there and we decided to tag along and make a day trip out of it. We had a fun!

 Austin, Texas State Capital

We had fun and now we can finally say we've seen our state capital!

Have you ever been to your state capital? Where do you live & what is your state capital?

M.I.A. Personal Update

Personal Update

I haven't blogged in 2 weeks - have y'all missed me?

I'm hoping that was a yes! Sorry, I've been M.I.A, but it's been crazy in the Kennedy household. Daniel just finished school and he's in the process of looking for a firefighter job.

I'm good at keeping up with my blog, but once I start getting behind it takes me a while to get back into the groove of things. I have so much to show you! I have 8 or so cakes and tons of creative things coming up. I hope you haven't lost interest in My Creative Way just yet!

Daniel's Graduation...
Trying to get a family picture didn't work. Jaxson didn't want to be apart of it :(

The Wiggles Cake. Make your own birthday candle

The Wiggles Fondant Cake

This cake was inspired by Simply Homemade Cakes. Instead of it being a 2 tiered cake like Simply Homemade Cakes made I made it a one tiered fondant cake.

I had 4 cakes to create when I was making this wiggles cake so my husband & mother helped a lot. Daniel made the octopus and the house. My mother kneaded the fondant for me.

The #2 birthday candle was made from a rice krispy treat that I formed around a real birthday candle. I just covered it in fondant and decorated it.

I hope y'all have a sweet Friday!
