Brown and Blue Baby Shower Ideas. Modern Baby Boy Shower Ideas.

Modern Baby Boy Shower

Updated from Jaxson's Baby Shower post.

The Decor and Colors

For my baby shower for Jaxson we went with a Brown and Blue Modern Baby theme.
We had the Modern Baby plates, napkins, chocolate candy wrappers, labels, & Plush Baby Rattles.

The Diaper and Party Favor Table
A great idea: send a note with your invation saying "Bring a bag of diapers and get your name in a drawing to win a $25 gift card". See how many bag of diapers you will get and it will only cost you $25. Many stores will let you trade out the diapers if you do not get the size/brand you want.

We gave out a $25.00 gift card to The Olive Garden. Every new mom needs plenty of diapers.

The Plush Modern Baby Rattle sitting on the Motorcycle Diaper Cake.

I made the favor boxes myself using brown and blue cardstock. Secure with a cute ribbon and slap on a matching label. Place your favor boxes on a cupcake stand for a perfect table centerpiece. Tutorial coming soon :)

The Cake Table
It's not a very good picture, but on the right side of this picture is another little Plush Baby sitting in a glass bowl of chocolate candy and blue mints. The candy is wrapped in a Modern Baby Candy Wrapper. The vases are filled with blue glass beads and blue flowers.

The Cake...

The Modern Baby Shower Cake was a simple one tier cake with blue & brown cupcakes. I made the little modern baby out of fondant and black frosting. Read more about the cake here

The Invitations...
Handmade Brown and Blue Baby Shower invitations made out of cardstock, scrapbook paper, and ribbon. Three presents stacked on top of each other.

The Banner above the cake table..
Another easy diy idea is to make your own banner.

Print out "It's A boy" on white cardstock and cut out. I boxed each letter (before you print) so it was not so plain. Then, tie a 6" piece of ribbon in a single not and glue it above each letter. Finally, just glue a long piece of ribbon to the back of each letter to hang or use a hole punch and thread the ribbon through each hole. Hang up with clear push pins or tape.

The Baby Clothes Line...

Simple and Easy. Great for any baby shower. Just clip your favorite baby clothes to ribbon.

PRIZE BOXES...
How to Make a Paper Bow
This doesn't have the right label on it, but I made these boxes (with the Modern Baby Labels) for the prize gifts. When someone won a game they got these cute boxes. They're bigger than the goody boxes. These were filled up with items from Bath and Body Works. Learn how to make your own paper bow here.

Other Baby Shower Ideas....
Instead of having a "Gift Table" use your new baby crib :)

Make little candies to match your decor using colored candy melts and baby shower candy molds. The kids will love them!

Hang your balloons upside down. Just use a clear push pin. Hang a cute paper mobile. Just don't turn on the fan :)
I hope this post gave you some creative ideas for your next baby shower.

Baby Shower Gift Idea. Pacifier Holder

Wall Pacifier Holder

You may remember this post Jaxson's Wall Pacifier Holder. Here is another Pacifier Holder I made for a family member.

It's like a bow holder but for binkies!

Any initial, colors, or print. Just mod podge scrapbooking paper to a painted wooden letter.

Make a matching binkie clip for a cute baby shower gift.

Do you call them pacifiers or binkies?

Kids Art Center Tables.

Kids Art Center Tables
Chalkboard Table Top

For Christmas my daughter wanted an Art Center, but I couldn't find one like I envisioned. I told my father what I had in mind and he was able to create these Art Center Tables for me.

We put the kids Melted Crayon Art above their table.

Each art table has a Chalkboard Table Top that the kids love! Jaxson used a crayola instead of chalk on his table top, but it easily came off with the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.

Underneath the tables has a shelf to hold coloring books and a storage bin for art supplies.

The art tables has a shelf and cork board to pin up their favorite creations. Eventually, the cork board will cover the whole backing. The store only had 2 and the rolled cork board wasn't thick enough.

I used Jif Peanut Butter jars for some of the art supplies.

Madison has mason jars for her art supplies until we can eat more peanut butter :)

The Chalkboard labels work GREAT!

You can purchase some Chalkboard labels HERE. Leave them as is or cut them in half to get more for your money.  I love them and I will be purchasing more. Instead of using chalk use a chalk marker. It will stay on better with the kids handling them.

I love seeing my kids be creative!

Now, it's time to work on a reading center...  EEEK!! So excited!

Melted Crayon Art with Kids Names. TIPs to DIY

DIY Melted Crayon Art
~Great Kids Craft~

These are all over Pinterest and I do not know who to give credit to for the orginal idea. This is a fun and creative idea for kids and adults.

To DIY all you need is.....
Crayons
Blow Dryer
Hot Glue Gun or another type of glue
Canvas or white cardboard (shirt box)
Black Stickers for kids names.

Easy DIY Melted Crayon Art STEPS:

Add the childs name with black stickers on the bottom of your canvas/board.
Glue crayons at the top of your canvas or white cardboard.
Get your blow dryer and melt the crayons.
Let Dry (takes 30 seconds or less).

TIPS:
The kids and I made four of these in 2 days. Here are some helpful tips I learned along the way...

  1. Use at least 2 or more same colored crayons next to eachother. Jaxson's crayon art was the first one we made and the colors look darker, because they blended together too much.
  2. No need to melt the entire crayon. Just melt the tips of the crayons. On Jaxson's we started to melt the crayons from the top and it took awhile to start melting. It, also, made the paper around the crayon waxy. If you just melt the tips of the crayons the paper will still be nice and bright light Madison's Crayon Art. Only the top of the paper (near the tips) will be darker from the melted wax.
  3. Blow dry downward. If you keep the blow dryer straight on the crayon it will go everywhere when it starts to melt.
  4. Lay down paper under your melted crayon art. Just in case :)
HAVE FUN and BE CREATIVE!

Madison & Madilyn's Melted Crayon Art (our 3rd and 4th creations)

Madison's cousin, Madilyn, spent the night and this was a great project for the girls to create. I didn't have any more white canvas, so we just used shirt boxes left over from Christmas.

These crayon arts will hang above their new art centers my father made. {Picture HERE}

Baseball Diaper Burp Cloths

How are you doing? I've been MIA for a little bit and have missed you! Check out my latest creation!

Diaper Burp Cloths made in Baseball Fabric. Aren't they cute?
I think next time I will do it without the ribbon. It took twice as long to make, because I added the ribbon.
