Shirt turned into a pillow. DIY Monday

Pillow Shirt
DIY Monday

Madison has outgrown her Zebra Birthday Shirt from last year. I couldn't put it in the trash simply because I think it's so cute. It matches her room perfectly so we turned her old shirt into a pillow.

Very simple to do. Just cut, sew, stuff, sew closed, and add to your bed with the rest of your pillows.

Now, her sixth birthday shirt will last a long time in her zebra room.

Tutorial Tulle Pom Poms. DIY Tulle Puffs.

Tulle Pom Poms Tutorial

NEW updated tutorial from our post How To Make Tulle Pom Poms

SUPPLIES:
Tulle
I used 3 rolls. I wanted 3 colors in my Tulle Pom Pom.
Scissors

Measuring Tape
Ribbon

Gather all 3 rolls of tulle together and cut to make the strands even.

I wanted my Tulle Pom Pom to be 8".
Cut each strand of tulle 8" long. If you cut them in threes it takes less time then cutting them one by one.

For an 8" ball cut a total of 30 - 40 strands of tulle.
If you are making a bigger tulle pom pom cut more strands.

Push and line up your tulle. Pinch your tulle in the middle.

Cut an extra strand of tulle and tie in the middle securing it.

NEXT....

Gather each end of your tulle pom pom (one end at a time) and you will most likely have uneven strands of tulle.

Cut the uneven strands to make them even like above.

Add your ribbon to the tulle and secure it in a knot.

Fluff out your Tulle Pom Pom and you are FINISHED!

WASN'T THAT EAST?!

Hang up your new Tulle Pom Pom and enjoy!

Great for Birthday Parties, Weddings, and Kids Room Decor!!

I made Tulle Pom Poms for Madison's Diva Zebra Party and now they are in her Diva Zebra Room over her bed.

Tutorial: DIY Fabric Wall Art

.DIY Zebra Fabric Wall Art.

 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Supplies Needed...
  • Shadow Box or Picture Frame without the glass
  • Scissors
  • Fabric
  • Glue Gun / Staple Gun

FYI: We made the shadow box ourself in advance and spray painted it black.
10" x 8" x 2.5"
I used Zebra Fabric and Hot Pink with Black Polka Dot Fabric. I cut a letter "M" out of felt and glued it on the Pink Fabric with my Glue Gun.
 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DIY Step by Step Picture Tutorial...

Cover your Shadow Box with fabric.

Stretch the fabric as you are covering the box and staple, or glue, it down as you go. Do the left and right sides first.

Then, do the top side like you are wrapping a present.

Stretch the fabric and glue/staple it down as you go.

Do the same with the bottom side. Cut excess fabric as needed.

Super easy! Just like wrapping a gift :)

Make as many as you want and hang them on your wall.

I made these 2.5" thick because we are going to use them as shelves for little items.

Have fun creating!!

Zebra Diva Bedding with DIY Decorative Zebra Pillows

Zebra Diva Bedding
and
Decorative Zebra Diva Pillows
We are changing Madison's room to Zebra Diva and it's starting to look amazing.

The Zebra Bedding was bought from Target. My step-mother made the Zebra Curtains and two of the Zebra Pillows.
I saw this Yorkie Zebra Pillow at Justice and I knew Madison had to have it. We have two yorkie dogs (Coda & Pinkie) and this pillow looks just like them.

You may remember this Zebra Diva Rag Wreath from a previous post. I added a long ribbon to it and hung it from the curtain rod. Looks great hanging here!

Learn how to make your own Zebra Diva Rag Wreath HERE.
Here are the DIY Zebra Diva Pillows.

My Step-Mom made the back two and she sewed black and white tassels to the corners.
I made this Zebra Diva Initial Pillow.
You can DIY. You just need Zebra and Hot Pink Fabric. The Pink Fabric is a 6" x 12" strip of fabric sewn in half and then sewn on a 12" x 11" rectangle. Leave one end unsewn to add pillow filler and sew close. I gathered the strip of hot pink fabric together using a peice of black and hot pink tulle. Then I added this rhinestone "M" broach I bought from Hobby Lobby.

I never knew sewing a pillow could be so fun!
All for my Princess, Madison :)

If she is Happy then I am Happy!

I hope you are not sick of all things Zebra just yet :)

Look how cute this zebra scarf is!

So simple to do.

This scarf measures 60" long and 6" wide and uses Hot Pink, Black, and Zebra Fleece.

I actually like these measurements better for Madison then the orginal Kid's Scarf Measurements I had previously. Check out my post "how to make a kids fleece fringe scarf" for step by step instructions. Follow the same steps, just change the measurements to 60" long and 6" wide.

Mod Podge Zebra Diva Crayon Coin Bank

Yes, that is right! This is a Mod Podged, Zebra Diva, Crayon Coin Bank, and it's super cute!!

The Supplies I Used.....

Zebra Scrapbook Paper, Black Scrapbook Paper, White Scrapbook Paper, Black Ribbon, Hot Pink Ribbon, Hot Pink Crayon Coin Bank, Mod Podge, Scissors, Rhinestones, Hot Glue Gun with Glue, and a Sponge Brush to paint on the Mod Podge.

I saw this Crayola Crayon Coin Bank at Toys R Us and I just had to have it for Madison's room, but it needed something more. Her room is Zebra Diva so I figured I could dress it up using Scrapbook paper and Mod Podge. I love love the way it turned out. I'll show you Jaxson's Coin Bank in a future post :)

Decorate any way you like using Mod Podge as you go and adding a top layer of Mod Podge when you are finished.

I hope you all like this project as much as I do :)

Happy Pre-Friday!

Hot Pink & Zebra Fabric Rag Wreath

How to make a Fabric Rag Wreath
Update: Check out Madison's Zebra Diva Room.
You will Need:
  • A Hanger or Wire
  • 1 yard of Fabric
  • Scissors or Shears
  • Ribbon
  • Glue Gun (optional)
Get your Hanger and shape it into a circle.

Bend the top of your hanger into a loop.
This is how you hang your Fabric Rag Wreath over a nail on your wall, or you can tie a piece of ribbon on this loop to hang the ribbon over a nail instead.

Cut fabric into strips.

I cut my fabric strips at 10 inches long and 2 inches wide.

My Diva Zebra Fabric Rag Wreath pattern is Hot Pink, Zebra, Zebra, Hot Pink, Zebra, Zebra etc...

Tie one piece of fabric around the wreath. You can double tie it or single tie it. To secure you can place a dab of Hot Glue in the center of each knot.

I double tied it and did not use any glue.

Go all the way around your hanger until you can not fit any more fabric on it.

Add a Ribbon Bow and you are finished :)

Perfect for Madison's new Diva Zebra Room :)

I want to make one this year for Christmas and Halloween!
