Fabric Hair Bow Centerpiece

Do you have left over fabric scraps that you do not know what to do with? Lets make a bow centerpiece.

Supplies:

You will need:
Fabric Scrap
Grosgrain Ribbon
Heat N Bond
Plastic Bottlecap (optional)
Scissors
Lighter
Pen
Iron

 Tutorial:
Iron your Heat N Bond to the back side of your fabric.

Place your plastic bottle cap (I used a water bottle cap) over the image you want and trace it with your pen.

Cut out circles

Peel off the heat n bond paper backing from your fabric.

Iron your fabric circle cutouts to your grosgrain ribbon.

Cut around your fabric leaving a ribbon trim. Then, heat seal the ends of your ribbon until it curls up right next to your fabric.

This is what it will look like when you are half way done heating your ribbon.

Once the ribbon cools down it's almost like a hard plastic.

Glue your new centerpiece to your favorite bow :)

DIY Rolled Fabric Rose

Supplies:
Fabric Strips 1" - 1.5" wide
Scissors
Glue Gun with Glue Sticks
Felt

Rhinestones, Beads, Feathers, Alligator Clip  (Optional)

DIY:
Knot the top of your strip and start twisting the fabric around your knot making a circle shape. Glue in place as you go. You want to make sure to rotate your fabric, like a spiral, as you are forming your circle rose. Once you get it the size you want, cut your fabric and glue in place.

Add a rhinestone, bead, button etc.. to the center.

I BET YOUR FABRIC ROSE CAME OUT SUPER CUTE!!!

Feathered Fabric Rose Hair Clip

Turn your Rolled Fabric Rose into a Feathered Fabric Rose Hair Clip by gluing them together, adding feathers to the back, sealing it with a felt backing, and gluing an alligator clip to the back.

Great for girls of all ages!

You can even add it to a fabric covered headband like I did for Madison's 2010 Valentines Day Outfit.

BE CREATIVE! HAVE FUN!

How to make a 4" Hair Bow
.Step by Step Picture Tutorial.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Supplies Needed...
Glue Gun with Glue Sticks
Ribbon (I used 1.5")
Measuring Tape
Scissors
Lighter or Wood Burner
Alligator Clip
Tiny Hair Rubberbands or Embroidery Floss
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Steps....
Cut your ribbon at 20"

Heat seal the ends with a lighter or a wood burner.

Fold your ribbon in half to find the center.

You do not have to mark on your ribbon. I just wanted you to be able to see the crease.

Wrap the ribbon around and secure with a very tiny dot of glue from your glue gun.

Do the same thing to the other side of the ribbon. You want to make a number '8' out of the ribbon.

Grab the top loop, bring straight down, and glue in place.

Do the same with the bottom loop

Accordion the center of the bow and hold tightly in place.

Wrap your small rubber band around it two to four times to hold it in place.

Cut another strip of ribbon at 6 inches

If you are using 1.5" ribbon fold it in half or you can use a smaller sized ribbon.

Make a knot for the center of the bow

Place a small dab of glue to the backside of the knot.

Add your knot to the center of the bow.

Tip: If you use a rubber band let the glue cool down a tad bit so it doesn't break your rubber band. If you use embroidery floss you will not have this issue.

Wrap one side of your knotted ribbon around the bow securing in place with glue. Cut of excess ribbon as needed.

The other side of the ribbon slide the alligator clip in and....
...find the center of the bow from the backside. Adjust your alligator clip under the ribbon and glue in place. Heat seal the end of the ribbon before you secure it in place with glue.

Now you have a cute little 4" boutique style bow :)

Cute and Easy Team Spirit Gift

Madison was asked to bring 26 team spirit items for drill team. We could have brought anything, they just had to be a blue or orange item.

We decided to make Carnation Flower Hair Clips. These were a BIG hit with the girls and we even saw several Mom's wearing these on competition day in their hair.

What's great about carnations is they are not expensive and you can find them in almost ANY COLOR!
All you need...
1. Hot Glue Gun, Glue Sticks, Carnations (I used two colors blue and orange), Rhinestones (I used 25mm), Scissors, Ribbon, Alligator Hair Clip, and a Lighter.

Steps....
2. Seperate your flower petals from the stems. Hot Glue 4 carnation petals together.

 3. I used the bottom of my lighter to push down so I didn't burn my finger.

4. Hot Glue your Rhinestone on top.

* Orange Petal, Hot Glue, Blue Petal, Hot Glue, Orange Petal, Hot Glue, Blue Petal, Hot Glue, Rhinestone*

5. Line your Alligator Clip with Ribbon and Glue to the back of your Flower.
