RealTree Camo Hunting Cake

Baby Shower Hunting Cake

I hope you're having a Sweet Friday! I'm excited to get back into the groove of blogging. Over the next few fridays I will be showing you a Captain America Cake & Cookies, Cascading Flowers Cake & Cupcakes, Real Steel Cake, 3 Tier Scroll Wedding Cake, 3D Cars Cake & Cupcakes, American Flag Cake, Peace Signs Cake & Cupcakes, & another baby shower cake. That's just what I've created in May! I would love for you to come back each Friday and check them out. Post a link in the comment section to your sweet creations. I would love to see your cakes too!

Today I'd like to show you a Hunting Cake I created for a Baby Shower. They wanted RealTree Camo. This is what I created...

The RealTree Camo border on the bottom tier is an icing sheet I had printed for me. The leaves are painted with some brown and gold luster dust and the grass is shiny green by using lemon juice, green food coloring, & a very small amount of white luster dust.  The nest is a rice krispy treat covered in brown fondant. Just stab, poke, & squish with a fork to get the texture. The egg is a real egg that I cleaned out and let dry overnight.

I didn't know how this was going to come all together, but, I must say, I really like it.

See more Sweet Friday Post HERE

Come back next friday to see the Captain America Cake & Cookies!!

The Wiggles Cake. Make your own birthday candle

The Wiggles Fondant Cake

This cake was inspired by Simply Homemade Cakes. Instead of it being a 2 tiered cake like Simply Homemade Cakes made I made it a one tiered fondant cake.

I had 4 cakes to create when I was making this wiggles cake so my husband & mother helped a lot. Daniel made the octopus and the house. My mother kneaded the fondant for me.

The #2 birthday candle was made from a rice krispy treat that I formed around a real birthday candle. I just covered it in fondant and decorated it.

I hope y'all have a sweet Friday!

Fondant Smurfette & My 27th Birthday. Sweet Friday

Fondant Smurfette

I made this fondant smurfette for my niece's birthday cookie. My step mother found a plastic smurf but she couldn't find a plastic smurfette so she asked if I could make one.

Here is the picture of the cookie cake that my step-mother made...

I hope you have a Sweet Friday

Are you making anything sweet today?

Today is my 27th birthday. I thought I was going to decorate myself a cake. I wanted a pretty cake and I refuse to spend money on something I could create, but I think I just want to have a lazy stress free day :)

Fondant Monster High

Monster High Cookie Cake

My step-mother made a giant cookie for my nieces birthday and asked if I would make some Monster High Fondant Toppers to put on it. This is what I came up with...

I really like the way they turned out and it took me less than an hour to create :)

Cheetah Print Cake with Ruffles. Sweet Friday.

Cheetah Cake & Cheetah Cupcakes

I made this Cheetah Cake and Cheetah Cupcakes for a bowling bake sale. It was for my younger brother and he gave me the power to create what I wanted. I always wanted to make a Cheetah cake so I put my painting skills to the test.

I'm obsessed with fondant ruffles right now so I added some fondant ruffles to the cheetah cake and cupcakes. I like the pure white look. It is very elegant but I wished I would have made a bold pop of color with red fondant ruffles. Maybe for my birthday cake next month :)

OMG... I'm going to be 27 next month... bitter sweet.

Cheetah Ruffle Cupcakes.

I hope you had a Sweet Friday! I'll have pictures of a Roller Skating Party Cake & Cupcakes next Friday.

Fondant Barbie Ruffle Cake. All Dolled Up Barbie Cupcakes

All Dolled Up Barbie Cake

My daughter, Madison, wanted a Barbie Cake so I made her a Barbie Cake. It was orginally 3 tiers, but the 2nd tier ended up being the same size as her dress. I didn't like the way it looked, so I took the middle tier out. When I made Barbie I didn't calculate her dress coming out a few inches. I think this is the smallest cake I've ever made for one of my kids and I felt guilty. Madison loved it and that's all that matters.

Barbie's dress is very girly. She is all dolled up with tons of ruffles. I have a new passion for making ruffles out of fondant. It's easy, looks great, and I love it.
This is an 8" round cake covered in black fondant. I cut out Barbie's silhouette using my exacto knife. The silver beads are Drugees, and I trimmed the cake with more ruffles.

I didn't want her cake to match the decorations simply because I didn't like the decorations. I pulled it all together by adding flowers in the colors from the barbie party supplies.

Madison helped me add all the flowers to the cake. It totally made her day :)

Strawberry Cupcakes with DIY Barbie Cupcake Toppers. Print some out HERE.

What plans do you have on this {sweet friday}?

I haven't taken Tutu Fairy orders since March 1st. I'm going to catch up on the last 25+ orders and then take a 2 weeks vacation :) EEEKKK... so excited!!

Vacation... No I am not going anywhere tropical. By vacation I mean, a vacation from orders, emails, etsy conversations, facebook messages. I'm going to enjoy my family and relax.

Madison's Barbie Party will be posted soon.

Free Barbie Cupcake Toppers: DIY Printables

Free Barbie Cupcake Topper Printables

Normally, {Sweet Fridays} focus is on cakes, but today I decided to change it up a bit. I'm working on my daughter's 7th birthday party this week and I just made some very cute Barbie Cupcake Toppers. If your little one is having a barbie party these cupcake toppers are perfect and better yet they are FREE!

To personalize them....
Open it up with Paint, erase "MADISON 7", and with your desired font put the age you need. Then put the child's name across the age.

Print them out on a heavy paper (card stock works), cut out with a 2" circle hole punch, and glue a tooth pick or short sucker stick to the backside. You are finished! Just place it in your cupcake :)

I hope you have a {Sweet Friday}!

Birthday Proposal Engagement Ring Cake. {Sweet Friday}

Engagement Ring Box Cake

So, I made two cakes for one very lucky lady. It was her birthday so I made a cute little birthday cake with an edible brooch. Then, I made this small 6" cake with an Engagement Ring Box and 2 dozen matching cupcakes. This cake was a surprise cake after he popped the question at her birthday party. HOW SWEET!

The ring box was made out of a rice kripy treat covered in fondant. The ring is made out of gumpaste. I used silver pearl dust to get it nice and shiny.

This was her birthday cake. 12" round cake with quilted design, pearls, and dragees.

The large bow was made out of fondant/gumpaste, and the edible brooch was made out of pearls and dragees. I love how the brooch turned out ;)

Damask Zebra Cake. Black & White Fondant Cake. {Sweet Friday}

Damask & Zebra Fondant Cake

I made this cake a couple weeks ago for a girl turning into a teenager. The bottom tier is a round 8" with Damask details. The middler tier is a 6" square cake with diamonds. And the top tier is a hand-carved 4" round cake with zebra details. Then, the cake is topped with a black fondant bow.

I stamped a little "Happy 13th Birthday" sign for the cake. Learn about stamping on fondant {HERE}.

What are your plans for the weekend? Are you going to do something creative? If so what?

This weekend I will take Birthday Pictures of my daughter, Madison. She will turn 7 in a few weeks and wants to have a Barbie Party. OMG... SO EXCITED! I think I was born to party plan :)

Nerdy Hello Kitty Cake

This Hello Kitty Cake with Nerdy Glasses is the first cake of 2012!

To make this cake use a 8" round cake and hand carve the Hello Kitty head shape. Or you can use a template and follow the template.

I saw that they even have Hello Kitty cake pans. Now, that would have been easier!

I hope my cousin likes her Nerdy Cake :)

Have a Sweet Friday and an even sweeter weekend!!

Lets take your kids next birthday party to the next level. Instead of having a plain boring white cake on the inside lets make the cake batter match their party theme too. Your guest will not even know until they take a bite.  Just add food coloring or checkout these cupcakes made with Lemonade...

Dukes of Hazzard Cake

This is the Dukes of Hazzard cake I made for my cousin's birthday.

I am a little disappointed in the car. Nothing I was doing seemed to work like I wanted. The car is a rice krispy treat covered in fondant.
The rocks are fondant.
The grass is buttercream frosting.
The water is white fondant with blue gel frosting.
The sand is edible.
The "Happy Birthday" sign is stamped (learn to DIY here)

Happy Birthday, Mark!
